Stephanie, Trevor and Baby Jack | Lifestyle Baby Photography

I believe it was only a year and a half ago that I photographed Stephanie and Trevor’s gorgeous Italian wedding in Toronto. I was so excited to be asked to do a Lifestyle Baby Photography shoot of their first child in the comfort of their own home. Baby Jack was way too cute for words. He was very “chill” posing with hats, ties and cute props. Baby photography can be very tricky. I really hand it to the baby photographers out there. it takes a ton of skill to be a baby photographer. I love lifestyle photography. I can really capture the raw emotions of the new formed family as they just relax and be themselves as if I’m not there.

I asked Stephanie to keep the clothing colors light and airy. We used natural window light and positioned Jack mostly on the ground using baskets and blankets. Lifestyle Baby Photography was easy in their beautiful big home which had sky high ceilings, huge windows and neutral colored walls. My “style” of baby photography tends to be on the angelic side. I view moms as a child’s angel and guardian, so I try and keep that feel throughout my photography.

My overall experience was really fun and easy-going. Stephanie and Trevor are very relaxed. The room temperature got really hot due to the sun reflecting inside the baby’s room. The baby was content in the warmth and fell asleep a few times which was perfect. I learn something new from every shoot. Sometimes the things I learn are technical, sometimes the things I learn are a life lesson. I tend to take away a life learning experience from my family shoots. On this day I learned about a different kind of love. The love between two people is magnified when they create something beautiful together.
